The week ending 25th May 2019, had Jacob Kiplimo win the 10km Great Manchester Run in UK as the major highlight plus Winnie Nanyondo broke the Uganda National 1500m Women's record after running 4:01.39 to finish third at the Shanghai Diamond League in China. The wins come at the most opportune time for ugandan athletes as IAAF granted Uganda world ranking status to two of its national track and filed championships. The Annual Akii Bua Memorial Championships and the National Athletics Championships get the status of ranked invitational meets starting 1st June 2019.

Still in developments of the week, FUFA became the first National Sports Association to receive Government's financial support for the fourth quarter FY 2018/2019 amounting to Ugx.4.3 billion. The funds shall among other things support the National Teams, the Uganda Cranes in their preparation campaign for the AFCON 2019 Finals due in Egypt from the 21st June to 19th July 2019, where Uganda is drawn in group A against hosts Egypt, DR Congo, and Zimbabwe. The funds shall also support the women's team to the COSAFA Tournament in South Africa.

In Cricket, Uganda has so far won two games against Botswana and Ghana but lost to Namibia and Kenya with a slight margin of 1 wicket. Uganda by day 4 stood in position 4 of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Africa finals 2019 hosted by Uganda. The tournament will see the top teams qualify for the ICC T20 World Cup Global Qualifiers in United Arabs Emirates slated for 11th October to 03rd November 2019 as qualification for the ICC T20 World Cup in Australia in 2020.

In Volleyball, the women's team lost 3-0 to Kenya at the finals of the Zone 5 Africa Games Women's Qualifiers at Lugogo and thus losing out on representing Zone 5 at the upcoming 12th African Games scheduled for 23rd August to 03rd September 2019 in Rabat Morocco. The Men's Team shall have a shot at qualifying for the same continental event in Nairobi, Kenya.

Again, Kenya dominated the East Africa Roll Ball Championships after winning Uganda in both the men's and women's finals at Uganda Christian University, Mukono. Uganda which finished second qualified for the Roll Ball World Cup due in India in November 2019.

However, it was a different story in Motocross as Uganda dominated the 2 day FIM Central Africa Motorcross Championships after defeating Kenya in 5 out of the 6 events at Busiika.

The Uganda Sailing Association organised the Entebbe Laser Open Race at Kaazi with Kim Bowerman winning the Russel Deering Martin Trophy while Steve Reynold won the main Open Title and Rosa Rafanomezana as champion of the junior event.
