WEEK REVIEW: UGANDA IS 2019 FEASSSA GAMES OVERALL CHAMPION, FIRST IAAF DIAMOND LEAGUE WINS FOR UGANDA , CUBS HEAD FOR CECAFA U15 FINALS AND MORE

FEASSSA GAMES
Uganda ended Kenya’s reign to emerge overall winners of the 2019 East Africa Secondary Schools Games (FEASSSA Games) that came to a conclusion over the past weekend in Arusha, Tanzania.
Below are the winners of the East Africa Meet:

Team Uganda comprising of over 800 secondary schools athletes arrived back safely from Arusha, Tanzania where Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, Tanzania and South Sudan competed in sports disciplines of Football, Volleyball, Netball, Handball, Athletics, Woodball, Rugby, Basketball, Badminton, Swimming, Table Tennis and Hockey.

ATHLETICS
With a personal best time of 12:57.41, Joshua Cheptegei yesterday won the men’s 5000m event at the IAAF Diamond League in Zurich. Earlier on, another Ugandan Ronald Musagala won Uganda’s first Diamond League medal the men’s 1500m in the IAAF Diamond League in Paris having clocked 3:30.58

CRICKET
The 2019 Boys Schools Cricket Week Tournament come to an end this weekend at the, Lugogo and Kyambogo Cricket oval.
The semifinals shall this Friday, 30t August 2019 have:
Busoga Collee Mwiri vs Mukono Parents at 2pm at the Lugogo Cricket Oval
St. Johns High School vs Nyakasura School at 2pm at Kyambogo Cricket Oval
The following schools participated in the tournament: Ntare School, Nyakasura (Western Region), Jinja Senior S.S, Busoga College Mwiri (Eastern Region), Masaka Senior S.s (South Western Region), Kings College Budo, Mukono Parents School, Kololo Senior S.S, Makerere College School, Kyambogo College School and St. John High School (Central Region) and Teso College Aloet (Soroti Region)

FOOTBALL
The Under 15 National Football Team are set to play Kenya in the finals of the Inaugural CECAFA Under-15 Challenge Cup in Eritrea.
Uganda won all its matches below to qualify for the finals:

Uganda 5-0 South Sudan
Uganda 3-0 Rwanda
Uganda 6-0 Burundi
Uganda Team is composed of: Shafiq Waswanga, Leonard Kasanya, Abbas Kyeyune, Travis Mutyaba, Caros Kaddu, Samuel Mutebi, Peter Gava, Vincent Mulema, Najib Kigozi, Godfrey Ssekibengo, Patrick Muliika, Patrick Ouke, Devis Ogwala, Abdu Nsereko, Shugai Kalisa, Shariq Magogo, Hafidhu Ssonko Ssembatya, Daniel Mukisa, Elisa Taremwa and Rickson Pater Gubya.
Second half goals by Mustapha Kiiza in the 81st minute and Allan Okello in the 88th minute helped KCCA FC defeat Namibia's side 2-10 in the return leg of the CAF Champions League played at the StarTimes Stadium Lugogo. Namibia’s side won the 1st le 3-2 in Namibia. KCCA FC progressed 4-3 on Aggregate and they will now play Angola's Petro de Luanda in the first round to determine who joins the group stages.

KCCA FC defeated Proline FC 4-1 to lift the FUFA Super Cup for the fourth consecutive year. Erisa Ssekisambu, Allan Okello and Musa Ramathan scored for KCCA FC. However, the second edition Pilsner Super 8 Trophy was bagged by Vipers SC after winning defending campions KCCA FC 2-0 at Wankulukuku Stadium.

Proline FC drew 0(3)-0(0) against Malawi’s Master Security and won by aggregate points in the second leg of the CAF Confederation Cup at Bingu National Stadium in Namibia. In the first le Proline won 3-0 its match.

The Uganda Premier League 2019/20 is back with Day One having the following games that are set for today 30th August 2019
